YOU FOUND THE KNIGHT!
You've seen the posters. You may even have experienced false knight sightings and
you've certainly put up with questions from your children.
FIGHTER VERSES 2009-10:
This year, we will be following a more broad plan to memorize our Fighter Verses.
For every two months we will have a set of verses to learn at your own pace during
that time. The dates next to the verses indicate when they will be said aloud for the
first time as a congregation. It will be a joyous time together as we hide God’s Word
in our hearts.

Q: SO WHAT'S ALL THIS "KNIGHT" BUSINESS ABOUT ANYWAY?
A: The idea of the knight comes from the image in Ephesians 6:10-17 where we are told
to "put on the full armor of God": the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the
helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit. The knight image conveys that we are in a
battle and that we have an enemy who "threatens to undo us." It also reminds us that
we must be prepared for warfare and have the right equipment if we expect to be
victorious.
Q: HOW DO WE PREPARE?
A: One answer is by memorizing Scripture. We, as a congregation, adults and children, have committed to learn a new verse or verses every week. We will all be learning the same verses and are excited about hiding the word of God in our heart.

To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest; to all who mourn and long for comfort; to all who struggle and desire victory;
to all who are strangers and want fellowship; to all who hunger and thirst after righteousness;
to all who sin and need a Savior; this church opens wide her arms and offers welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
