Our Sunday morning worship gatherings are a place to enjoy God’s presence, hear the Bible taught expositionally and relevantly, while experiencing genuine love with other people.

Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself! Our small congregation varies in age and we love welcoming new faces. We know that visiting any new church for the first time can be bit overwhelming and we want you to feel welcomed coming to PBC!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a Sunday look like?

We have recently simplified our Sunday schedule.  We begin at 10AM with a time of fellowship in the foyer of the Family Life Center.  Come early to meet people, enjoy some coffee, tea, and other refreshments.  At 10:30AM our worship service begins in the Sanctuary.  During this time, Elementary and Pre-School Children will be in Kids Connection.

What is the music like?

The music we sing at Poolesville seeks to be a blend of old and new. We love the doctrinally-rich hymns and we find blessing in the choruses of the twenty-first century. We strongly prefer congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing praise to God with one voice, over performed music, which tends to spotlight the abilities of some while encouraging passivity in the rest.

What are the sermons like?

Preaching at PBC seeks to be relevant to today’s issues, but still remains fully expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. On a regular basis, our sermon series alternate between the Old and New Testaments. All preaching is gospel-driven.

We exist to show who Jesus really is and to help everyone find their hope and delight in him.
