Jesus had a heart to reach children – and so do we. We believe that children of all ages are able grasp important elements of our faith. As a church, we believe that we come along side parents in helping them disciple their children. We seek to do this through intentional weekly programming, including children in the worship service, and through fun summer events.
Normally, we have age-graded Sunday school classes for children – from the nursery through 5th grade. Currently, because of COVID, we are emailing lessons to parents in an effort to keep discipleship going in a distanced environment. We are using Group’s “Dig In” curriculum series, which provides biblical, interactive and engaging lessons for the children each week. We are currently making plans to fully re-open Sunday School for kids in the fall of 2021. In the meantime, if you’d like to receive curriculum for use at home please contact: email@example.com.
On Sunday mornings, we gather as an entire church family for a time of worship. We believe it is important for kids to be involved in this time together. We also understand that some things can be a bit challenging for the kids, and so we have a couple of special elements just for them.
This is a 5-10 minute portion of our service (during the offering) when some of our church members walk the kids through the questions and answers of the New City Catechism. This catechism helps the children (and adults) understand truths about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, humanity, and so much more.
Check out the Kid’s Connection Channel on our youtube page for past episodes.
Right after “virtual kids connection,” the children from birth to grade 3 are invited to a special time where they will enjoy a snack, activities related to the video, games and so much more. If you’d like your kids to be involved, check out our events page and consider registering.
On Wednesday afternoons at 4:30, Pastor Joel meets with the children on zoom to hang out with the kids, talk about life, discuss Sunday’s activities, and even play virtual games. This time started as a way to encourage the kids to take notes on Sunday mornings. In the COVID environment, we’ve adapted to zoom, but we’re really looking forward to meeting at McDonald’s again for a cone of yummy-ness. If you’d like to have your kids join in, please contact Pastor Joel.
