Free Food Distribution

PBC is blessed to receive food from a variety of sources – restaurants, caterers, stores, etc.  As God provides these resources, we seek to make them available to folks in Poolesville.  Typically you’ll find someone from the church making this available on Tuesdays from 11AM and Saturday from 11AM.  Other special opportunities are shared through email and Facebook.  If you have a food shortage or other need that we might be able to assist with, please read below for benevolence assistance or contact office@poolesvillebaptist.com.

Benevolence

We understand that people experience various challenges from time to time.  Through the generosity of the church family members, PBC is is pleased to offer temporary assistance to people in the Poolesville area (Western Montgomery County).  We keep a supply of grocery and gas gift cards on hand.  If you need some assistance, please feel free to stop by the church.  If you need help with rent, a utility bill, or some other large bill, we may be able to help with that as well.  To request assistance, please click here or contact our office at 301-349-4090.

Adventures in Art Camp

Our God is a creative and artistic God. Being made in His image, we can be creative as well. Adventures in Art Camp is a week where students will get to express their artistic inclinations in a variety of different classes, while also learning from God’s word what it means to live out His image in His world.

Truth and Hope Outreach

Truth and Hope outreach is a sewing ministry to the poor both nearby (Oklahoma flood victims) and as far away as Uganda, South Africa, Bosnia, Kenya, Jordan and Honduras. In the last year this ladies ministry has supplied over 300 handmade bags, baby blankets, hats, bed comforters, and clothing items for those in need.  Some of these places that receive these gifts are ministering under somewhat normal situations but others are ministering to babies with fetal alcohol syndrome, some others have been abandoned in fields to die. Several of the ladies from our church help in this ministry and we are proud to support this outreach in the name of Jesus.

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is managed by the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware and the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. This disaster response group, in cooperation with our Red Cross partner, provides a hot meal (Southern Baptist Disaster Relief cooks it; Red Cross delivers it) to folks impacted by a storm or displaced by an incident. Southern Baptist Disaster Relief also helps begin the recovery process by cutting up down trees, providing remediation to flooded homes and patching roofs or windows damaged by a storm.  While this is underway, trained Chaplains provide a “ministry of presences” to those affected.  Behind the scenes, our Maryland Logistics group provides Administration, Assessment, Communications, Laundry, and Showers resources as needed to an event or incident.

We exist to show who Jesus really is and to help everyone find their hope and delight in him.
